by Sarah Ruhl
A modern, fantastical retelling of the Orpheus myth, this play follows the titular Eurydice (Yuh-RIH-duh-see) on a journey through the underworld. Reunited with her deceased father, she must navigate her new, strange environs and contend with the Lord of the Underworld while her musical genius of a husband mounts a rescue effort.
Blossoming playwright Sarah Ruhl, a two-time Pulitzer nominee, expertly blends heartbreaking poetry, deft comedy, and arresting imagery to staggering effect. This production will mark the first time her work has graced the Players’ Ring stage.
